ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
Book Law LLP, a distinguished employment law firm based in New York City, is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Employment Litigator to join our dynamic team as an Associate Attorney.
We are in search of a candidate with a strong litigation background with a proven track record, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep, extensive understanding of federal, state, and city employment laws. Significant experience leading cases representing defendants and advising employers on compliance and risk mitigation in employment-related matters is crucial. The successful candidate will have:
- A J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar; New Jersey State Bar admission is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in employment litigation (including arbitrations and actions in federal, state and NYC agencies) and compliance advisory, particularly defending against wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, discrimination cases, advising employers on risk mitigation and representation in mediations.
- Proven capability to manage a demanding caseload.
- Outstanding analytical abilities and comprehensive research skills.
- Superior written and oral communication talents, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
In addition to litigation, Book Law’s attorneys provide the following to employers:
- Document and policy preparation (e.g., Handbooks, Separation Agreements, Restrictive Covenant Agreements, Policies, etc.)
- Assisting with the preparation of materials for client trainings on a wide variety of employment law issues
- At least 3 years of experience in employment litigation (including arbitrations and actions in federal, state and NYC agencies) and compliance advisory, particularly defending against wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, discrimination cases, advising employers on risk mitigation and representation in mediations.
- Conducting workplace and third-party investigations
- Preparing verbal and written investigation reports
- Assisting with DOL Audits
- Responding to agency (EEOC, NJDCR) Charges
- The highest level of client service
This is a full-time position. Competitive salary ($115K to $150K), benefits and a very competitive bonus and origination credit structure.
