REMINDER TO NEW YORK CITY EMPLOYERS

July 1, 2024, is the deadline for employers in New York City (NYC) to post and distribute NYC’s multilingual “Know Your Rights at Work” poster.  The poster is available here.

https://www.nyc.gov/assets/dca/downloads/pdf/workers/KnowYourRightsAtWorkPoster.pdf

By July 1, 2024, employers must: (1) display the poster in the workplace in an area accessible and visible to employees; (2) provide a copy of the poster to each current employee; and (3) make the poster available online (such as on the employer’s intranet) if the employer regularly uses such method to communicate with its employees.

Employers also must distribute the poster to any new worker who starts after July 1, 2024.

The poster links to the Workers’ Bill of Rights, which is a summary of federal, New York State, and New York City employment laws applicable to persons who work in NYC.

The poster does not replace other federal, state and city employment law poster requirements.

For more information about the Workers’ Bill of Rights, see our employment law blog post in The Book Report, here.
