What’s New in New Jersey? Book Law LLP on the Road!
Book Law LLP recently hosted a networking and educational event for clients and potential clients in Lakewood, New Jersey, to highlight key employment laws in the State.
Senior Partner Chaim Book kicked off the presentation by explaining brand-new changes to New Jersey family leave and disability leave laws that affect almost every employer in the State. See our article in this newsletter summarizing New Jersey’s expanded Family Leave Act and new job protections for employees receiving benefits from temporary disability insurance or family leave insurance.
Attendees asked thoughtful, specific questions and shared challenges they’re seeing in their own workplaces. Chaim, with Book Law LLP Partner Sheryl Galler, provided practical, real-world guidance on how to respond to employee requests for accommodations and leaves.
Chaim also reviewed how New Jersey courts approach overly broad non-competition provisions and recommended steps that employers can take to protect their business interests.
