Spotlight on Sheryl Galler: Panelist for the New York State Bar Association

Our partner Sheryl Galler recently spoke on a panel about the professional responsibilities of attorneys when representing clients in matters involving age discrimination and disability bias. Sheryl explained key provisions of federal and state anti-discrimination laws, attorneys’ ethical duties to their clients, and how those laws and duties intersect in day-to-day legal practice.

The panel was part of the annual meeting of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) held in January 2025 in New York City. Sheryl is a former chair of NYSBA’s Labor and Employment Law Section and former chair of NYSBA’s Women in Law Section. As a partner at Book Law, Sheryl guides clients through the tangle of federal, state, and local employment laws, helps clients develop and implement employment policies, and conducts training on harassment prevention and compliance matters.
