Spotlight on Rebecca Nathanson: Employment Law in the Construction Industry

Our partner Rebecca Nathanson is an active member of the Professional Women in Construction (“PWC”), New York chapter, a national non-profit organization of women and men supporting women in their careers in the construction industry. The New York chapter supports that mission by actively engaging members through committees, providing leadership opportunities, networking forums, professional-development programming, a job board and directory, plus mentorship and scholarship initiatives.

As part of her commitment to PWC, Rebecca volunteers on the Membership Committee. In that capacity she co-led planning for the October 2025 Annual Member Meeting held at the Steelcase WorkLife Center Showroom in Columbus Circle. The event, hosted by the Membership Committee, celebrated PWC’s 2025 accomplishments. As part of her leadership role for the meeting, Rebecca also welcomed new members, networked with colleagues, and encouraged engagement on the Membership Committee.

As another year of PWC membership sunsets, we asked Rebecca about what she values about her PWC membership and her work in the construction industry. She explained, “beyond the invaluable network of relationships I have built at PWC, my involvement enhances my understanding of evolving industry practices and workplace trends; this in turn allows me to better advise my clients on employment and labor law compliance that aligns best with their overall business goals.”.

Rebecca, who has known our Firm’s Senior Partner Chaim Book for approximately 15 years through the employment and labor law community, joined Book Law this past August. Previously, Rebecca spent nearly a decade working as a Director and Counsel at the NYS Department of Labor, where she also served on the Construction Fraud Task Force.
